The number of performers and animals involved in this travelling circus makes one wonder where and how they were accommodated and how were they shipped to and from Hong Kong. Presumably there were no animal quarantine regulations at the time.

Building still exists.

Tiger Balm Garden, Tai Hang, Hong Kong

Found this drawing on Flickr. Can't read the caption, but it looks to me as it shows the garden in 1935, and the drawing is from 1971.

The top pavilion is clear to see (artists love to emphasize certain features), and it's in the middle of nowhere.

Here is another ad in response to the query about 1930s kitchen decor in Hong Kong. Although this illustration shows a hallway and staircase, tiles from top to bottom were very popular in kitchens and bathrooms and easy to clean in a climate where mould was rife.
