Swimming canal near Hong Kong

I believe this photo is at a location near Hong Kong. My grandfather had a farm or what was referred to as a "farm" near this place. I have other photos showing a large body of water, maybe a bay of some sort, and others showing thatched dwellings such as can be sen in the background of this picture. I am thinking now maybe it was near Tai Tam Valley as there is a similar canal stucture in one photo I saw on Gwulo. I am hoping someone may have a better idea of where this was taken.

I saw some other photos of tennis courts and was wondering if anyone can identify this location. I'm not possitive that it's Hong Kong, because the family had intersts in Malaya and also moved to Shanghai around 1919. The thatched buildings may give a clue

The attached may help muddy waters further when it comes to Marine Lot 122! It refers of the application for a licence to process human hair.

Incidentally the granting of the licence to a Mr Lowe is interesting. At the time I believe he headed HK's largest accountancy firm. Subsequently one of his employees - John Fleming - an amazing man - was involved in the running Warren and Co Ltd after the death of Charles Warren.

This is a scan of my great grandfather's death certificate. If you look closely he is shown to have died at 98B Wanchai Road.

Taken with the other document I have posted it would seem what nearly a century ago both A and B were places where both my great grandmother and my great grandfather laid their heads.

I fail to see what difference a rent role would show and David has done a huge amount of research on where the site now is.
