c.1920 Dragon boat racing off North Point (?)

What: It's dragon boat racing time of year, and the focus of the photo is the two dragon boats in the foreground.

Who: Foreign dragon-boat teams are a recent invention, so the people in these dragon boats are Chinese. Unfortunately the photo isn't sharp enough to show whether or not the rowers still wear their hair in the queue style. That would have helped pinpoint the date.

If you look carefully, about half-way along each boat is a man standing up, dressed in white. They're the

Happy Valley Graves

This is a fairly recent picture of the grave of Jons Jakobsson aka John Olson. I have an original in the family archives. This is in Section 16B in Grave 8284. His wife Ching Ah Fung is buried nearby in Grave 8119. John died in 1918 and his wife died in 1915. I have archive pictures and a fairly recent picture of Ching Ah Fung's grave which says: In Loving Memory of Ellen Olson  who died 20th October 1915 aged 61  years.

John also buried two brothers Anders and Olaf in the Happy Valley Cemetery.

1912: Farewell to the Queue

These photos (and their titles!) have an unlikely source - they come from The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry's Christmas cards, 1912.

Why would a British infantryman be sending photos of Chinese gentlemen to his family and friends?

Here's view of the tram line you don't see any more - green hills to the right, and beach to the left! Can anyone identify any of the (few) landmarks shown to give an exact position?

Also, do you know when the tram line was extended past Causeway Bay, to narrow down the date? The HK Tramways website just says:

1903: The construction of a single-track system began and it ran from Kennedy Town to Causeway Bay. The route was later extended to Shau Kei Wan.
