A Boeing 747 taking off over Kowloon City. Work has commenced on the construction of the Kai Tak Tunnel underneath the runway/airport from Ma Tau Kok to Kowloon Bay.

Passengers boarding C.A.A.C Trident B284 from Hong Kong ( Kai Tak Airport ) to Guangzhou Baiyuan Airport on 13 December 1978. The aircraft was a new British-built Hawker-Siddley Trident registered in China as B284. It was later re-registered as B2216 when China changed to a four-digit aircraft registration system.

The light was painted in black and white checkers until the 80's/90's when it was repainted in green.

Before the adoption of IALA A in the 1980's, HK followed the League of Nations Uniform Buoyage System (also used in the UK). Starboard markers were black or black and white checkers (black and yellow for secondary channels). Port markers were red or red and white checkers (red and yellow for secondary channels).

Charles Gesner van der Voort (1916-1991) worked in Shanghai for Holland-China Trading Company from just before WWII. After the outbreak of war, two of his colleagues went to England, to join Dutch forces, they became "Engelandvaarders" from the East. One of them was Karel Baggerman (1918-1982). He joined Princess Irene Brigade, was trained as one of the first Dutch commandos and participated in two major military operations in The Netherlands: Operation Market Garden and the Battle of Walcheren.

Our family lived in these flats for a few months shortly after our arrival in Hong Kong, January 1970.

Similar style monorail vehicle, same stripes etc. Easy to get mixed up with Kai Tak's one.

1975 Barker Road Houses

Interesting view (likely) from the Peak Tower. I think it shows Tantallon behind 41 Barker Road (Barker Villa).

The house on the ridge could be Abergeldie (2nd generation), but I'm not sure.
