The concrete ruins are in a cutting that matches the placement of the 1939 DEL constructed to serve the Aberdeen Battery. The slabs are haphazardly placed and their connection to the DEL is circumstantial without further information. Access is slightly hazardous as traffic comes from around a bend and there is a drainage ditch immediately on the other side of the fence.

Inside the levelled cutting, slope stairs lead on past the concrete slabs that connect with older steps leading to the Aberdeen Battery Lower Platform.

However, the iron rivets, colour and composition do suggest that it dates from the construction of the Battery.
