Interestingly the Governor of Hong Kong is making the request on the opening page preamble ‘to allow the bearer to pass without hinderance,’ rather than the UK government.

It was apparently valid for all countries expect those needing visas. Different times!

‘British Passport’s Hong Kong’ were issued to myself and my family during a period when our UK original passports were being renewed. Issued by The Passport Office Hong Kong.

These are dated 1981, and surprisingly valid for a full 10 years.
