Which I'm guessing means it was taken in July 1907.

Who: Soldiers from "A" Company. A couple have their caps on, and one

Cooling off

What: Part swimming pool, part bath, this was a popular spot on a hot summer's day.

Where: There's a pencil note on the back:

I think this was taken from Stonecutter's Island, and the industrial area in the background shows the oil storage tanks where Mei Foo is today.

The view south from the beach.

Across the water we see the sea-wall of a reclaimed area of land. Originally it housed oil storage tanks, but a few years after this photo was taken Mei Foo Housing Estate will be built there (Wikipedia says the Estate was built in phases from 1965 to 1978).

Above the reclamation on the right is Stonecutters Island, then in the far distance is Hong Kong island with The Peak on the right.

A new swimming pool was opened in 1963 due to some of the RAF's boundary areas changing as the main road system around the airport was rerouted after the opening of the new runway

Beach for Europeans/Bungalow by the sea

Here are four pictures. I am posting them because David recently speculated that the Bungalow By The Sea posting of some time back might in fact have been at Cheung Chau island.

Moddsey identified the Beach for Europeans picture I posted some time back and I have had another search and found the three pictures posted here. They show the beach, my great uncle Charles swimming and the headland in the background, he and his wife Ethel on the beach and Ethel posing with a sunshade on what may be a path above the beach.
