I wanted to photograph the fruit sellers with their shoulder poles and baskets.  They were very happy to have their pictures taken but the lady who walked between us was definitely not keen on being in the picure!

This 1927 photo shows baskets hanging from a shoulder pole. We'll meet the people who used these poles, and take a closer look at the wide variety of loads they carried.
