81. Coronation Celebrations: - Arrangements were made for illuminating a number of the principal Public Buildings, including the Queen’s Statue, on the occasion of the Coronation of Their Majesties the King and Queen. All preparations had been practically completed for the night of the 27th June when the arrangements were cancelled in consequence of His Majesty’s illness. The illuminations subsequently took place on the night of the 9th August, but Were unfortunately marred by a heavy downpour of rain, which occurred at an early stage of the proceedings. <Read more ...>

Eastern junction of Hennessy and Johnston Roads [????- ]

Probabily the procession for the coronation of Queen Eliwabeth II in 1953: a parade with a convoy. Michael Roggem a Dutch 16 mm filmmaker, has filmed these festivities. This is probabily the Queens Road. However, the fact that the coronation of several monarchs in Hong Kong was celebrated, especially King George VI in 1937 and King Edward II in 1902, makes the identification of the frost on pictures like these difficult.

Probabily the procession for the coronation of Queen Eliwabeth II in 1953: a parade with a dragon procession. Michael Roggem a Dutch 16 mm filmmaker, has filmed these festivities. However, the fact that the coronation of several monarchs in Hong Kong was celebrated, especially King George VI in 1937 and King Edward II in 1902, makes the identification of the frost on pictures like these difficult. Also, a dragon like these can point to Chinese New-Year festivities.
