DBS temporary premises on Nathan Road

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1926

Thanks to Vanessa for this photo. She writes:

thought you might like to have this photo for gwulo.  i have never seen it before, neither did i know that DBS had an interim campus between bonham road and argyle street.

I haven't seen this one before either - Nathan Road in the foreground looks like a country lane, with piles of rocks and weeds growing.

The AMO's notes have some more background:

Found this in a Japanese Navy magazine during my recent visit to Tokyo. This image of HK was taken by a crew from the IJN Grand fleet visiting Hong Kong. The fleet arrived on 28 April 1928 The large vessel on the left (party cut off) is Dreadnought Battleship Matsu (奥陆).She was the second ship of the Nagato class. She was commissioned in 1922.

Mrs Whiteley, 16 Broadwood Road

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1920

This photo is labelled "Mrs Whiteley and her chow". As previously posted, the Whiteleys were near neighbours to my uncle, Leslie Warren and his family who lived at 19 Broadwood Road from 1923-1938. This chow may be a relative of my grandfather's chow, Bess, commemorated in various family photos.

Peak Signal Station with Cannon

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1920
Places shown in this photo:

A rather unique photo (3.5" x 3.5") of the Peak Signal Station (Flagstaff) with the peak cannon which was known to be used as the mail gun, and maybe also as the typhoon gun.  Thanks to Stephen Davies, the flag is recognized to be a Jardine flag.

This cannon is currently kept at the Peak Police Station (http://gwulo.com/node/4892).

Any idea of the possible date of this photo (1920s is only my first guesstimate), and if the same cannon was used as both the mail gun and typhoon gun at the same time?

c.1928.But where?

When: This photo comes from the same album as the previous photo I posted [1], which I'd dated to c.1928.

Where: Can you recognise it? I've left the location out of the title so it doesn't give the game away. There are several clues if we look at ...
