A fine bronze statue of Sir Arthur Kennedy, Governor of the Colony 1872-6, erected by public subscription, stands above the second terrace looking down on the fountain [of the Botanical Garden]. It was unveiled in November, 1887, by Governor Sir William Des Voeux.

The photo (found on Wikimedia Commons) is from the Album of Hongkong Canton Macao Amoy Foochow (digitized by National Institute of Informatics - Digital Silk Road Project). The album contains photos from 1870 (Amoy 1868).

This one shows the Botanical Garden and the Albany.
