Spectators at Happy Valley.jpg

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1920

I take this to be a commercial photo that was kept by Leslie Warren's family as it has his sister, Evelyn in it. There is no studio imprint on the back but it is probably in the public domain. Leslie's daughter has written "Aunty Evelyn (middle), Daddy's sister at Happy Valley Racecourse". It certainly looks like Evelyn standing next to the gentleman in the dog collar holding the race programme. Is he having a flutter? I suppose he must be a friend of the family.

Early photos of Girl Guides in Hong Kong?

If one exists, I should like to access a girl-guiding photo of my aunt, Evelyn Warren, https://gwulo.com/node/11558  if the Hong Kong Girl Guides have an archive of group photos. David posted a reference to her departure and Mrs Reed's from Hong Kong and their work with the Girl Guides in "The Report on Girl Guides 1922". Evelyn was the only daughter of my grandfather C.E. Warren and returned to Hong Kong to live with him for three years after leaving school in 1919.

"Riding to hounds at Fanling"

Could anyone point me towards accounts of hunting in Hong Kong? I noticed in Peter Hall's book "In the Web" that one of his relatives "rode to hounds at Fanling". I'd be interested to find out if many women hunted. My aunt, Evelyn Warren, was a keen horsewoman and persuaded her father, Charles Warren, to go in for buying race horses when she returned to Hong Kong from her English boarding school in 1919 .
