The D’Aquinos or De Aquinos were a prominent Macanese family dating back to the eighteenth century and who emigrated to Hong Kong in the late nineteenth century. This C.E. Warren & Co. Ltd advert for black out materials and A.R.P. equipment is from the SCMP 10 April, 1940. Leslie Warren, the company manager and member of the HKVD Signals Corps must have agreed for his company to be an outlet for these. The advert refers to "the next black out". When did the black out drills start and how were they imposed?
