Hong Kong LegCo Building in about 1995

This is the view of the old Legislative Council building from Connaught Road in about 1995. The flags are flying on the Cenotaph in front of the LegCo building.  The Cenotaph now looks bare without the flags.  

Ma Wan in about 1995

This picture was taken on Ma Wan in about 1995.  We took the ferry from Ting Kau to Ma Wan and saw these trays of shrimp paste drying out in the sunshine.  They smelt a bit!  The construction of the Tsing Ma bridges had recently begun at that time.  The unfinished bridge supports can be seen in the background.  The ferry from Ting Kau no longer runs and the scene on Ma Wan is very different today.

Yau Ma Tei reclamation starts

View from the peak onto Yau Ma Tei area. Reclamation has started already. I think on the left side there is a ship that pumps sand (or at least a sand/water slurry) from the bottom of the harbour onto the new created island. 

I think it's getting more and more tricky for the Jordan Road ferries to get out here.

A photo taken in 1995, "50 years On", in the Military cemetery of Conner Hackett, Frances Swann and myself. Swann is Frances's married name, but I forget what her maiden name was. All three of us were born in Stanley Internment Camp.
