Japanese POW Camps in WWII

From 27 August to 20 September 1945, B-29’s of the 58th, 73rd, 313th, 314th and 315th Bombardment Wings gathered on Isley Field, Saipan. Together they flew 900 sorties against 158 Prisoner of War and civilian internment camps in Japan, Korea and parts of China.

This map shares many similarities with the 1845 overlay already on the site, however it includes many details not shown such as the owners of different lots in the city.

1842 Map of Initial Land Sales in the Colony

Likely edited to add Lots & Buildings from subsequent land sales. There are some inconsistencies such as two different lots having the same number.

Jardine Matheson also bought Town Lot 42 in 1841 where Flagstaff House is today.

A detail from a 1990 tourist map shown Hung Hom Bay. On the eastern sideare  two ferry terminals. Although the copy isn't really good, it can be read that the ferry lines on the north-western pier go to Wan Chai and North point, and from the south-eastern one to Central.

The ternimal on the western side has no information on ferry connections.
