On Youtube I found a most interesting video. It's title is "The Cunard Line presents Hong Kong" and was made for the trip around the world of Cunard's cruise ship "Franconia". It is not eactly dated (1930's), so I set the date to 1935.
I copied a film still which shows the Peak Tram and the (first generation) Richmond House.
During my search for Richmond Houses in the 1940's I found this most interesting video via Google on facebook. It shows the life in Hong Kong in about 1938. Although it sounds a bit pathetic I think its a valuable document of that time.
