The Norwegian airline Braathens S.A.F.E. was the first airline to offer flights bring Hong Kong schoolchildren back for their summer holidays. This was in 1948. Later the SCMP reported their success and that one father who had been interned in Shamshuipo during war saw his son for the first time in nine years and another child had his first return visit in fourteen years.
