Hydrofoil arriving in Macao

This is the Hong Kong hydrofoil arriving in Macao - we were waiting for it to take us to back to Hong Kong.  As I remember is the hydrofoil service was new and my father booked us on this as a special treat rather than the much slower traditional ferries.

HUD-Hydrofoils + Jetfoil + base of hammerhead crane-1972

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1972

Two Hydrofoils and one Jetfoil on maintenance support frames.

It’s interesting how deep under the water the foils would have to be.

With the Jetfoil present when I took this picture, originally in colour, from a passing HKY ferry in 1972, it means that Jetfoils are still serving Hong Kong now for at least 44 years.

Also of interest is the base of the hammerhead crane securely anchored to the pier which we don't normally see images of.
