Came across four engraved granite columns on the hills behind Park View.  20m or so behind these was old abandoned grave, nearly unrecognisable.  Can anyone translate these characters for me and let me know what they are/what they were for?

Two columns still standing in original position; the other two had fallen over.

Note the square holes - one bored all the way through, the other only a few cms.  Same on all four columns.
