My wife is the Grandchild of a former POW in Hong Kong and his wife ( from what we know a translator) James was Stationed and captured in HK then was on board the Lisbon Maru.
He fortunately made it through to be reunited with his wife Mimi Susan Fung and stayed up untill 1949 spending sometime working for Star Ferries. They had 4 children before leaving for James home country of Scotland.
Finding the history facinating and the life stories inspiring. Looking for family information, connections and stories - but also an understanding of Old Hong Kong
