This photograph was taken from a rough lay-by, now the site of a small pavilion. While most of the hillside around the bay was covered in short grass this part had thick scrub. One of the two dead snakes that I saw during my time in Hong Kong was a Chinese cobra draped over the barbed wire fence here. That was a more effective warning to keep out than any of the official signs!
