Left hand side is the Standard Oil Co. / Mobil oil berth and tank farm [1904-????], later to become Mei Foo Sun Chuen [1978- ].

Update 2021-05-18: On Flickr, the image is flipped horizontally, this is now the correct orientation.

This is not Kowloon west but Yau Tong, Kowloon east. The headland of Leiyemun is on the right.

Hi Steve, this is Kowloon West, to be precise Lai Chi Kok. The photo was flipped horizontally, that's why it didn't fit too well. I've flipped and re-posted it, now it looks much better. You can compare it with the 1963.2 map (which is actually an aerial photograph) on hkmaps.hk, it fits- Regards, Klaus
