Near the house (view from or to) my grandparents P. Marks and M.G. Marks-Groot (from the Netherlands) had rented in the early twenties of the 20th century, somewhere on the Peak (don't know the address though).

31, Lugard Road is bottom right. Behind to the left is Dragon Lodge. The house top right is 29 Lugard Road which was heavily damaged during the Japanese attack in 1941. Below is a photo taken from almost exactly the same position showing the ruined No 29:
