The observation turret of pill box 37, disguised to look like a small monument or grave(?), is visible on a small knoll to the left of the standing figure. By October 1957 the pill box was lying half buried on the foreshore, when I tried unsuccessfully to look inside it - gravel and mud basically filled it. I suspect that it was wrecked during Typhoon Gloria in September 1957. (Andrew S)
