In mid 1958, the camp's new cinema, called The Astra as were all R.A.F. cinemas, came into operation . We were able to watch many more films in far greater comfort than had been possible in the Mess. I think that the Astra was open every evening. Older readers will recognise many of the names of the film stars who enterrtained us in those days. In 1987 I visited the camp before its demolition and took this photograph inside the Astra. (Andsrew S)
