I found this photo, and would like to know from what year appr. this was taken. Could that be the early Naval Barracks at Admiralty on the left.

Think this is Wanchai. The four buildings in the center at the waterfront are the Blue Buildings. Further to the right is Wellington Battery. The waterfront ends on the photo near todays Spring Garden Lane. More information see Wanchai's seafront in 1902 .

My estimate of time is before that, possibly 1880s.

Found a similar photo in a book from 1872:
