The building on the right hand side is No. 12, Praya East (see Wanchai's seafront in 1902). It looks as if there are scaffolds around it (under construction?). Left of it on Marine Lots numbers 31 & 36 is a house with a framework front a bit away from the sea. This is the shipyard of Geo. Fenwick and CO. The photo was taken at a time when the shipyard still had access to the habour, and the Praya Road was led across a draw bridge. Further left are two smaller long streched houses (possibly godowns), they are possibly part of the shipyard.

On the left side is a pier, think it's Fenwick's Pier.

The date was guessed to be around 1880. The 1000, foot pier isn't visible, so it's either after 1874 or before 1872 (lifespan of the pier).
