簡述:The photograph shows work in progress on the dam. The reservoir was built in 1883 as the first stage in the complex system of waterworks designed to provide the city of Hong Kong with adequate water supply. Since Hong Kong has always depended on rainfall for its water supply, the construction of new reservoirs had to keep pace with Hong Kong's growing population.
