A vintage Cheavin's stoneware water filter can definitely still be purchased as an antique today. I remember a stoneware water filter sat in the kitchen of our tea estate in Ceylon in the 1950s. All drinking water had to be boiled and filtered through this. The stoneware filters are a lot longer lasting and nicer to look at than today's plastic equivalent and probably just as efficient.
