View along Nathan Road in southerly direction possibly taken from the HK Telephone Building. The largest building is the Peninsula Hotel, and we can see a couple of roads going west (right): Salisbury and Middle Roads near the hotel, then Peking Road, and finally (in the foreground) a short road that leads to Lock Road which didn't have a junction with Peking Road at this time.
Many of the houses visible were built around 1930, and they will be demolished shortly after this photo was taken.
Starting at the junction of Nathan Road and the connection to Lock Road (that didn't have that name already) there are 5 European Houses. The last one should be 35 Nathan Road [????-????]. Further along Nathan Road and stretching along Peking Road, there are the 1930s Block of European Flats [1930-c.1961]. Further clockwise are the European Houses on Hankow Road (1920/30's) [c.1929-c.1962].
Further south is the Kowloon Hotel (3rd generation) [1923-1955] and The Peninsula Hotel [1927- ].
Left (east) of Nathan Road near Salisbury Road should be Rose Hotel [????-c.1958].
