If I had to guess, it would be one of the side streets off Johnston Road looking towards Queen's Road East.

A side street between Johnston Rd & QRE sounds right, though I'm not sure which direction we're looking.
The buildings facing us at the end of the road are three-storey, so too low to be Hennessy Rd. They look a similar age & design as The Pawn.

I'm thinking that wall on the right would be part of the Sailors & Soldiers Home, but the shape doesn't match the photo below. Was there another big building further along Anton Street?

Was looking more at the buildings on the left for the identification as seen here The wall on the right may have been the eastern portion of the Blue Buildings before demolition.
