Observation
Just an observation. Are the lions being put in place on the steps to the front of the building?
Way ahead of it's time!
My mother worked for 'The Bank' for almost 30 years, in that fantastic old building - she looked out onto Statue Square from her office - across the tram tracks. In fact she was looking out of her window on one occasion when she saw a European woman "walk into a moving tram"! Luckily she was not too badly injured!
She told me that it (the building) was way ahead of it's time in terms of design - wondeful air-conditioning using water drawn in from the harbour (?). It also housed many other institutions including the American Club at one time.
