Thanks for uploading the photo!  I did not know there was a petrol station on this section of the road.  Is the white building part of Murray Barracks?

The chimney is seen quite clearly in the background.

There was a petrol station tucked behind Beaconsfield House, next to the Hilton Hotel. Is the granite plinth on the right of this photo, where the French Mission stands?
