Counting from the runway in a straight direction, this crossbar was Bar 2 (later renamed Bar 3 after the runway extension was completed in 1974) of the Runway 13 Approach Light System situated at the airport perimeter facing the soon to be constructed Olympic Avenue. In 1974, two innermost crossbar lighting were situated on the runway.
In the photo, the former Kowloon City Bus Terminus on the left would make way for the construction of the Kowloon City Roundabout.
