level crossing at 0,43 is at tai po, not good to be stuck there when the pig train was passing through - the stench was nauseating
I only recognise one location in this film, but here are the scenes and hopefully someone will recognise more of the locations.
0:00 Filling up water cans at a stand-pipe, somewhere along a waterfront
0:38 At the Tai Po level crossing, as Vanessa identified
0:54 Hill fires
1:09 Crashed car
1:20 Overlooking junks near the shore
1:48 Clouds spilling over a ridge
2:29 Still watching the clouds, but now there's a housing estate visible too
2:51 Watching a plane take off from Kai Tak. I think he's standing somewhere near the RAF Officers' Mess above Kwun Tong Road.
I think the crashed vehicle was on Causeway Road.
The view from the RAF Officers' Mess is confimed looking over RAF Kai Tak and the hangar.
As for the housing estate, I had originally thought it was Choi Hung Estate but 1961 would seem rather early for its construction.
Due to the extensive damage on the roof of the crashed car: She must have been attempting to parallel park.
Thanks for the extra information. I'll add in the Places as we find them.
I'm not sure if that's Causeway Road, as I can't see any sign of tram lines.
Regards, David
Thanks David. I had not thought about the tramlines!
