Thanks for the extra information. I have corrected his birth date.
I have also received the following information from Brian Coak:
I have copies of both John Edward Hayward's passports. Jack was born on 27 June 1911 at Wye Kent England. ((Wye is a village near Ashford))
He enlisted at Canterbury on 17 October 1927 in the Royal Regiment of Artillery, Army Service No. 6340217.
He was also a Past Master of Cathay Lodge No.4373 EC Hong Kong.
