Senior Inspector Ronald John McEwen, Killed in Action November 5, 1967

Greetings to all.

I am the daughter of the abovementioned police officer and am on a quest to discover as much as I can about him, his life and his career. I believe there were artifacts of his stored in the Police Museum and newspaper coverage of his death.

I realise this is a long shot and I'm depending on the kindness of strangers, but I would be exceedingly grateful for any information or guidance on where to look.

Sincerely

Rona McEwen (Barbara Wanless - adoptive name))

Notes from Rob Woods:

My grandfather was in the Hong Kong Police before being interned at Stanley Camp with my Grandmother, my Dad and his two brothers when the Japanese invaded Hong Kong.

His name is Harold Woods and I believe his nickname was "Timber" Woods.

He played the clarinet and was in the Hong Kong Police Orchestra or Band and their performances were played on the radio i believe.

This photo, taken in 1935, is taken in the same location as a photo of the European Staff of the No.2 Police Station, Hong Kong, on the occasion of the retirement of Inspector McLellan. It is reasonable to assume it was also taken at about the same time and includes all the Staff of the No.2 Police Station.

James Hill, is seated in the first row of chairs, wearing the uniform of Crown Sergeant, second person to the left of Inspector McLellan (or from the point of view of the viewer, seventh from the right).
