Initially retired from HK Police 1954. Then appointed Commissioner of Police - New Hebrides. Retired initially to Glasgow in 1958 before continuing retirement in Sydney Australia from 1966 before passing away in 1973.   Entry needs updating.

Thanks for the extra information, I've added in the year of his death.

He was first mentioned here as an internee in Stanley Camp (http://gwulo.com/node/12352). If you can add any information about his time there, we'll be interested to read it.

Regards, David

Born 13.05.1905  Enlisted HKP 19.04.1927  as L/Sgt A 139   CPLSM 19.04.1945 as Inspector,Promoted ASP 1.4.1950 Awarded CPM 1.6.1953 as ASP.

He was more widely known as "Jock" rather than Ossie. This reflected the fact he was a Scot. He was even known as Jock by his younger brother, Eric, who served as a deck officer with Swire's China Navigation Company from 1941 - 50 before joining the Hong Kong Government's Marine Department (!950 - 74). His ship sailed from Hong Kong in December 1941 for Australia just before the Japanese occupation.
