When built the incinerator was not surrounded by housing estates. Mei Foo estate is just starting to take over its site.
The long narrow building behind the incinerator was the KMB bus depot maintenance and parking depot.
Now site of very tall multi-storey housing blocks.

From what I recall, the building site in the foreground or nearby would become the Hong Kong Telephone Co.'s Lai Chi Kok Telephone Exchange - their first 'electronic' (as opposed to electro-mechanical) telephone exchange. It was fraught with teething and ongoing problems.
