This photo is from the small collection of photos of my father William Lewis Rapley.
On the back he has titled it '1940 Victorious Softball team'.
He has identified all the players who I suspect were probably like him, members of the Kowloon Cricket Club.
Back: G. Winch, H. Young, Francis Zimmern, Ernie Zimmern, Harold Porter (?), Archie Zimmern
Front: Bill Rapley, Donald Anderson, Duggie Hunt, Tommy Madar.

My father is George Winch Back Left in the photograph. Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated. He is now deceased, but he mentioned the names of the others when I was young.

Hello Stephen
Aside from the 1940 softball team photo from your father William Rapley, would you have another photos or information? As you stated they are highly likely to be all memebers of the Kowlooon Cricket Club. Would your father have any of the cricket or other sports photos with Geore Winch in it?
I am his daughter Rita Winch and would greatlly appreciate any of the sporting photos.
Best regards
Rita Winch
Re: Photo
Looking at the papers of the day, it is noted that the HKVDC No. 3 Machine Gun Company had raised a team and participated in the 1940 Softball League. Not sure if this was a HKVDC team photo.

Thnk you for the information. Yes, it’s is correct that my dad and the Zimmermans were with HKVDC Machine Gun Company. They were also members of the Kowloon Cricket team and attended Diocesan Boys School. They also played bowls.
