There is a short segment on Food Street from 00:18 (no audio) in this 35mm film from the same period. Happy memories eating there in Causeway Bay with the distinctive floor level segmented fountains along the whole indoor 'street'.
Looking at google maps and drawing from my memory, 'Food Street' = 'Houston Street' between Gloucester Road and Kingston Road. It is a pedestrian thoroughway with restaurants on both sides of the walkway.

Thank you for the link. Yes, looking at Google Earth, your description of 'Food Street' being Houston Street matches my memory exactly. My photographs suggest that the narrow street had some sort of louvred(?) panes of glass for a roof.
Re: Food Street
Hi There,
I lived just across the street in #51 Paterson Street just next door back in those days. I vaguely remember the the 'Cover' came with Food Street. Nowadays about 2/3 of it is the new Food Street (I think), as there had been Restaurants on both side. Some are closed as for the time being owing to the pandemic.
Before Food Street Houston Street was always a padestrian street, with local grocery stores or other miscellaneous shops before 1967. Couldn't remember very clearly after all these years. There was a Chinese Restaurant at the corner of Kingston Street on the block facing the then Canel though. The commercial space of that big block was taken up by expansion of Daimaru, splitting up their Fashion section and Household\Supermarket section.

Paterson Street
Dear T,
Talking about the neighbourhood of the area, I remember there was an Eton School (易通英專) where I attended classes involuntarily during summer vacation in 1967/68 to brush up my English. Could you tell its exact location?
Regards,
David
Re: Eton School
Hi There,
This one I remember. It was at the back of Haywood Building on Paterson Street. I believe when there lease was up, the site was taken over by Post Office. The Post Office stayed there until it moved to Windsor House, likely in the 1990s. I could not remember when.
