Found these images here. They were shot by an American soldier on leave during the Vietnam war in 1969, most likely between October to December 1969.

Hennessy Road (location of Playboy Bar) at the corner of Fenwick Street, looking east.

Kow Hoo Shoe Company still exists, but now located in Prince's Building.

Maybe the tall building in the background is still standing, the one with the white wall and red lettering. Can anyone who reads Chinese recognise it?

Hi David,

That building still exist but you may not be able to see the red words anymore. The building is Sun Hei Mension Street view

Sun Hey Mansion was completed in 1965.
