Charles Baysting married Ethel May Sheath in 1929 Greenwich.

He served with the  Middlesex Regiment  WWI Private G54306

She was born 20 April 1896 and died 18 April 1991 in Newlyn Cornwall

In 1939 they travelled together from Hong Kong to London, his occupation police officer.

There is no record of Edith May Sheath/Baysting returning to Hong Kong after 1939

In 1945 Charles Baysting arrived in Liverpool with many other ex-internees and gave 10 Harcourt Road London as his address in UK. On the same voyage were Ruth Cook age 21 housewife and Margaret Ruth Charmange (sic) Cook age 2 and their address in UK was also 10 Harcourt Road London.

From Carl Smith Charles Baysting retired in 1947 as a police inspector then joined  Hong Kong and Yaumati Ferry Company as a superintendent.

Died 10 April 1968 age 69 and cremated 17 April 1968 in Kong Kong. He is survived by a widow, two sons and a daughter.

In 1947 Ruth Cook age 26 travelled to Hong Kong with Margaret Ruth Cook (sic) age 3 and Charles Arthur Baysting Cook (sic) age 11 months born in Coventry 1946 mother's maiden name Cook. Ruth Cook was born  28 January 1921 in Johannesburg South Africa. Raymond George Baysting was born 30 April 1949 in Hong Kong. Was she a second wife and were these the widow and children referred to by Carl Smith?

Born 3o.08.1899     enlisted as A 177  on  31,10.1923    As L/Sgt was commended  by the District Officer North,see Annual Report 1929       Sub Inspector 13.11.1938

Charles Baysting is also my grandfather, I also have very little information apart from some details about youngest son.
