Joan Crawford was the daughter of the superintendent of North Point Power Station. She was present at the siege of the station during the December 1941 hostilities and helped treat the wounded.

Her birth is given as 1918 on the Stanley Camp Roll but she's listed as 26 (presumably in 1942) in the Hong Kong War Diary records.

Joan CRAWFORD (née DUCKWORTH) was born 31 December 1916 in Spring Garden Lane, Wanchai. Bungalow accommodation for Hong Kong Electric senior employees. She died in Amersham, Buckinghamshire on 3 January 2014. She was my mother's second cousin. Her father died in 1963.
