Pottinger Map and Gordon Map

Dear Colleagues,
I found two layouts of maps. One from 1842 which is named (the Pottinger Map), and the other map from 1843 is named (the Gordon Map)
I tried to search who this Mr. Gordon was. I could not find a surname of this person. Who was Mr. Gordon ?
Any information regarding Mr. Gordon is very much appreciated

Mr. A. Gordon was the first
Mr. A. Gordon was the first Land Officer, who became the first Surveyor General in 1843. It should be noted that this plan is of larger scale than Pottinger's, covering a smaller area.
By the way, where have you come across this maps? Would love to know how to obtain copies.
