Kwun Chung Theatre / 官涌戲院 [1993-2011]
Primary tabs
Seating capacity: 103
Address: 30 Kwun Chung Street, Kwun Chung, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong
From discussion by Cinema Treasures, it is noted that the pre-WWII Kwun Chung Theatre was situated at the junction of Jordan Road and Canton Road, and operated during the period about 1931-August 10, 1939. Subsequently the theatre building was demolished and the site became part of a park.
The address, seating capacity and photos mentioned in the sources, and listed on this page, refer to the Kwun Chung Theatre (successor to the original possibly) at street level and the northern most unit of the Milmanway Manson. Milmanway Mansion remains standing today and the space has been returned to ground level shop. The theatre at this site operated during the period June 22, 1993 - March 15, 2011.
