Address: 24-30 Kwun Chung Street, Kwun Chung, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was located in the same building as, and next to, the Kwun Chung Theatre which too, has been closed.
A review of the sources shows that there was at one time a theatre named Universal Theatre 民樂戲院 located nearby at 40 Kwun Chung Street, at the street corner with Bowring Street. It had a seating capacity of 1,131. While its opening date is not known, it was retired some time in 1993.
In June of that same year, a new theatre named New Universal Cinema 新民樂戲院 started operating a short distance south of the retired theatre until February 1995.
