The report on the investigation of this tunnel (document 05329, CEDD, dated Oct 1979) reported that 'dates marked on the cast-in-situ concrete lining of the tunnel indicate that this was installed in 1941'.

This lets us date several of the Harrison Forman photos of this tunnel to 1941, as they show the forms used to cast the lining, stacked up outside the tunnel entrance.
