Date Place demolished:

Seating capacity: unknown.

Address: Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay Hong Kong, about the southeast corner of Yee Wo - Pennington intersection.

The Eastern District Amusement Park in Causeway Bay, where the theatre operated, was opened on January 27, 1940.  It is assumed that the theatre also opened on the same day.  Operation was suspended on December 8, 1941 and resumed after the war though its closing date is unknown.  Hoover Theatre was built also on the amusement park and it opened on May 6, 1954.  Assuming that Hoover Theatre was the successor, then the original theatre I believe closed in mid 1953.

The Chinese name for the theatre is not known, but was likely named for its location and thus assumed for the purpose of this page.
