Hi Andy,

Your great-grandfather is actually buried in the Jewish cemetery, which I look after. This is his record on our website:

https://jhshk.org/community/the-jewish-cemetery/burial-list/abraham-a-e/

Anna is buried in the HK Cemetery, presumably because she wasn't Jewish.

I'd be very happy to share information with you. You may reach me through the JHS website. Thanks.

Howard

Hi Howard

many thanks for the contact on this and Elizabeth, I'll be in touch shortly once I've got things clarified.

Also I'll be posting pictures in due course , I have quite a few to sort through as yet.

I noted from the JHS community page the Abraham-Mackenzie-Goldenberg family tree which has raised one initial question regarding Daisy Mackenzie Goldenberg and Rose Mackenzie. The Family link to their mother and father appears to be George Cobban Anderson and Li Aline, so not sure where the Mackenzie name comes from?

Any ideas.

As I say I'll be in touch further in due coure

many thanks

Andy

I believe Mackenzie was the maiden name of George Anderson's mother. It may be that Aline, who was Chinese, was George's second wife and he didn't want to give these children his Anderson surname.
